Evenings at the Bistro on the Quay

How to find the restaurant

By Road

The restaurant is located on Wherry Quay in Ipswich and is easily accessible by car via Salthouse Street and Key Street. What3words - ///shady.normal.period.

Follow the brown tourist signs marked “Ipswich Historic Waterfront” until you reach the town centre. Once on the one-way system, follow the sign with a bed symbol for the Salthouse Harbour Hotel, this will take you directly in front of the restaurant. While limited parking is available directly on the waterfront, there are several nearby “pay & display” car parks just a short walk away, including: Waterfront Car Park (Duke Street), Smart Street Car Park, and Stoke Bridge Car Park.

By Rail

The restaurant is just a short taxi ride or a 15-minute walk from Ipswich train station. If you're walking, exit the station and turn right onto Burrell Road. Follow it until you reach Stoke Bridge, then turn left to cross over. Immediately after the bridge, take the first right, you’ll see the marina ahead. When the road forks, keep left along the quayside beside DanceEast. Walk past the historic Custom House, and Bistro on the Quay is just beyond, overlooking the waterfront and moored yachts.

By Boat

Bistro on the Quay is perfectly situated beside Beacon Marina, easily accessible via the River Orwell. Whether you’re mooring for the day or longer, the marina offers a safe and welcoming spot right in the heart of Ipswich Waterfront, just steps from the restaurant’s waterfront terrace.
